Do I need a GP referral for an ultrasound scan?
No. You can book any of our diagnostic ultrasound scans directly. If a scan shows something that needs onward care, we can refer you to the appropriate specialist.
How should I prepare for an abdominal or liver scan?
For most abdominal and liver scans we ask you not to eat for around six hours beforehand, as this gives a clearer view of the gallbladder and surrounding organs. Full instructions are sent when you book.
When will I get my results?
A written report is issued within 24 hours. Many findings are explained to you at the time of your scan.
