Frequently asked questions

Do I need a GP referral for a physiotherapy follow-up?

No. You can book directly. Follow-up sessions continue the treatment started at your initial assessment.

Should I book a follow-up or an assessment?

Book a follow-up to continue treatment for a problem already assessed. If you have a new or unrelated problem, book an assessment instead.

What happens during a follow-up?

The physiotherapist reviews your progress, provides hands-on treatment and progresses your exercise programme, adjusting your plan as your recovery moves forward.

How many follow-up sessions will I need?

This depends on your problem and progress. The physiotherapist will discuss the likely number of sessions and book them as needed.

Can I space out my sessions?

Yes. The physiotherapist will advise on timing, and sessions can be spaced to suit your recovery and your commitments.
